Style Resolutions for a Better-Dressed 2015

Happy New Year Everybody!

The first of the year is a time for starting over, making resolutions and setting new goals. If dressing better is one of your goals, here are five simple resolutions that will have you looking your best through all the adventures of 2015.

1. CLEAR OUT THE TRASH

If you have a closet or drawers full of old clothes that you don’t like wearing (but for some reason often reach for in a pinch) clear it out. Make piles for: donate to charity, sell on eBay, and bring to the tailor for alterations.

2. CLEAN & ORGANIZE YOUR CLOSET

Keeping your bedroom clean and your closet organized is one of the best things you can do to make proper use of your wardrobe. Organize your closet in a way that allows you to see all of your options and know exactly where items are stored. (“Closet Set-Up” article coming soon)

3. PLAN YOUR WARDROBE PURCHASES

Impulse shopping does not make for a solid reliable wardrobe. Make a list of the essentials you need and build a wardrobe the smart way. This will also allow you to save some money by giving you time to shop around in places like second-hand shops or websites like eBay.

4. GET TO KNOW YOUR TAILOR

If something doesn’t fit properly, don’t give up on it. There’s a chance your tailor can adjust it to fit better. Even if it’s just an inch or two here or there, a minor alteration can make a big difference. (“Alteration Guide” coming soon).

5. VISIT YOUR BARBER ROUTINELY

Have your hair cut every 3-4 weeks and suddenly your clothes will start to look better. Being well groomed is one of the best, and easiest, things you can do to improve your overall appearance and style.
